Be Your Own Hero.

This life will always throw curveballs, & people aren't made of answers like I believed as a child. It can be challenging enough to find caring people, but to find people who know how to comfort & advise in a legitimately helpful way can be nearly impossible to find, particularly during the darker, more harsh moments of life.

Three dozen doctors over half of a decade had absolutely no idea how to help me, along with hundreds of friends & family members. So I had no choice but to help myself.

I was forced to rise from the ashes or I would just have continued to burn alive.

For me personally, it’s a war most people don’t even believe exists, & no one truly understands unless they've faced it themselves.

Every single day, I confront insurmountable odds because of the tragic challenges that come with dissociative identity disorder (DID). Yet here I am, still standing tall.

Living with dissociative identity disorder has taught me the significance & power of taking fate into my own hands.

Attempting to navigate these crazy complex waters has taught me how to see the story being written & intentionally choose to write very different words with life’s pen.

I have faced & continue to face the impossible & transform it into a beautiful, miraculous reality.

Every day, I battle a war so fierce & violent & terrifying that I spend every waking moment powering through it so I don’t completely crumble.

It takes every ounce of effort & energy to simply stay afloat.

What others do for relaxation feels like work these days because every waking moment is such an intense fight for survival.

It's a matter of befriending yourself, learning how to comfort & advise your own being objectively.

You know YOU best. You know your needs, your love language, the way you cope best.

Take a deep breath. Without questioning it, have the faith & confidence that you are enough—that you are, have been, & always will be enough. You are more than adequate; you are a treasure. You're a rare & precious find!

Let go of doubt, worry, & fear. (Don't worry; they can return later.) For right now, focus on your breathing. Focus on an imaginary throne where you are the ruler of your mind. The seas calm upon your command; the winds halt in their path at your word; the birds chirp a beautiful song upon your suggestion. The world is your oyster, as the saying goes. Or, as my alter Misty used to say, "The world is our playground!"

Know that you are capable of achieving whatever you set your mind to! Reach for the stars! Shoot for the moon! No reservations; no agitation; no hesitation. Step out confidently & just see what happens, hoping for the best yet establishing no expectations.

When your mind is feeling terrified, be your own best friend. What would you do for a friend feeling this way? How would you desire a friend to treat you in this situation?

Take a moment. Breathe. & be there to love on yourself.

Life is tough, but so are you. Allow compassion & patience & limitless grace to be evident in your demeanor as you approach your own self, in any situation, in every moment.

"Your own self-realization is the greatest service you can render the world" (Ramana Maharshi).

Words have never rung so true.

I dare you to believe in the impossible.

Afterall, it’s just a word anyway.

Impossible is just a big word

thrown around by small men

who find it easier to live

in the world they've been given

than to explore the power they have

to change it.

Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion.

Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare.

Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.

Impossible is nothing.
